🎯 The Strategy in Plain English

The "Gold Pattern" is a futures scalping system on 1-second charts. Three lines sit on one TradingView chart: the instrument being traded (micro gold or micro S&P futures), the Dow Jones as a reference index, and a fast RSI. When the traded instrument diverges from the Dow for 90 seconds or so, that sets the trade direction; when the RSI then pops the opposite way, you enter within 1–2 seconds and are usually out 30–40 seconds later, at a stop and target set to identical dollar amounts. Win as much as you lose per trade, so any win rate above 50% is profitable, the program claims students reach 70–86%.

Unlike the two options traders in this project, the risk discipline here is genuinely per-trade and demonstrated live: every trade has a hard stop, placed before or immediately at entry, often moved to breakeven once the trade works ("now this is a risk-free trade"). There is no holding, no rolling, no averaging down, a loser is closed by the stop in under a minute and that's the whole loss.

The catch is the business model wrapped around the method. The taught path is: paper trade to a 70%+ win rate over 50–100 trades, then buy funded-account evaluations from third-party prop firms (Apex, Tradify, Take Profit Trader, Lucid, My Funded Futures), scale to many accounts, and collect payouts, reinvesting into more evaluations, whose fees are lost every time an evaluation fails. Every performance number comes from inside the program, and some "live trading" streams are actually students, not Jeremy. The trading mechanics are the cleanest of the three dossiers; the evidence base is the weakest.

⚡ THE TRADING PLAN

The plan at a glance: master table

Plan elementThe Gold Pattern rule
InstrumentMicro futures: MGC (micro gold) or MES (micro E-mini S&P). Long or short equally
Direction / biasNone, direction comes from each divergence signal
Typical hold30–40 seconds, occasionally up to a couple of minutes
Entry day / timeAny day Sun night–Fri afternoon (futures ~24/5); live sessions run from ~9:00 AM ET; "20 minutes a day" total screen time
Order mechanicsTradingView + broker; bracket-style: entry with pre-set stop and target attached; stop slid to breakeven once in profit
Setup selection1-second price chart + DJIA overlay + RSI on 5-second setting; ~90-second divergence between traded line and Dow; RSI pops opposite to intended direction → enter within 1–2 seconds
Target returnPer trade: fixed $ target = fixed $ risk (1:1). Program survey claims avg $188/week per user
Position sizing1 contract to start; scale via more funded accounts, not bigger size ("synchronize the trading" across accounts)
Max risk per tradeThe stop, always: "You're never never never going to trade without a stop loss", e.g. risk $200 to make $200
LeverageFutures margin inherent to the instrument; typical demo risk ~$60–200/trade on micros
Profit-takingAutomatic at the take-profit; or manual once "risk-free" (stop at breakeven)
Loss handlingThe stop takes the loss in seconds. No rolls, no holds, no averaging. "Even the losses are going to happen and we just have to roll through it"
When to refuseBelow 70% win rate over 50–100 paper trades → not allowed to trade real money at all
PlatformTradingView premium (1-sec charts; affiliate link), third-party prop firms for capital
Verified track record? No. 97%/86%/68.2% figures are internal; an independent review found no earnings proof

P1. Instrument & market

Micro futures only, small CME contracts (MGC, MES) tradeable nearly around the clock: "This system can be traded almost any time, at night, in the morning… Sunday night to Friday afternoon." Both directions: "If you believe the market will go up, you can take a position to profit from that; if you believe it will go down, you can also profit from that drop." One demo host: "typically we trade MES… I feel a little bit frisky today, I'm going to trade micro gold futures, MGC."

P2. The setup: three lines on one chart 🟢

LineWhat it isSetting
BlueThe instrument actually traded (gold futures in the flagship version)1-second candles
OrangeDow Jones Industrial Average, "our navigator," never tradedoverlay
WhiteRSI5-second interval (against 1-sec price)

Platform is TradingView Premium (needed for 1-second charts); the paid club sells "proprietary widgets we built that visually show these trend lines," but "you can absolutely figure this out on your own."

ENTERP3. Entry: divergence, then the RSI pop, then speed

🟢 From the flagship explainer (Ih8PonrUZyo), the four criteria verbatim-condensed:

  1. "Identify a fresh divergence between the blue line and the orange line using about 90 seconds of trend", the two lines "moving in opposite [directions]… clearly separating from each other to create an opening."
  2. "That divergence tells you the direction you want to trade", blue outperforming Dow → long; underperforming → short.
  3. "Wait for the RSI to move meaningfully in the opposite direction of your intended trade", oversold pop before a long, overbought before a short. "Not a tiny wiggle, but a clear move compared to its recent behavior."
  4. "Enter quickly", "the moment that happens, we enter our trade within 1 or 2 seconds."

Exit: "As the pattern plays out, the blue line pushes upward, hits the take profit, and we exit the trade often within 30 to 40 seconds. Then we decide whether we're done for the day or taking another trade based on our plan."

PORTFOLIOP4. Position sizing & capital

P5. Managing the trade: symmetric bracket, then risk-free

🟢 "We set it up so that on each trade we will win as much as we will lose, stop loss and take profit equal distances. If we're risking $200, we're also aiming to make $200." Both orders are automatic. Once in profit: "You can bring your stop loss from the negative into the positive… now this is what we call a risk-free trade. No matter what, I'm either going to make three bucks or I'm going to make sixty bucks."

The math this rests on: at 1:1 risk/reward, any win rate over 50% is profitable, "you only need to be right more than you are wrong."

DEFENDP6. Defending the trade: there is nothing to defend

The stop is the entire defense, and it's non-negotiable: 🔴 (mentor session, on-message) "If the blue line hits the orange line, that's my stop loss, the most I'm willing to risk. The software takes me out for a small loss. You always, always, I don't care what strategy you're trading, have to trade with a stop loss. It's the only way to protect your account, your capital preservation." Losses are normalized: "Tonight I lost two trades. And that's par for the course. You're going to lose. It's how you handle the loss." No position survives to be managed, rolled, or averaged, the maximum adverse excursion is decided before entry.

P7. Risk controls, leverage & the graduation gate

The program's one genuinely strict rule 🟢 (OZVlEziFqMA):

"Master the gold pattern at 70% or more with paper trading over the span of 50 to 100 trades. It can't be over five trades, 'I'M AT 75%! WOOHOO!' No. Out of those 50 trades you've hit 35 green. If you can't do that, don't go on to step two, where you actually start risking money on a funded account."

Plus universal paper-first messaging: "Please use paper trading… make sure you are consistently winning before you ever consider using real money." And mindset as risk control: revenge trading is called out as the account-killer, "that's when you're going to blow your accounts"; "proper mindset [is] apparently 10,000% of the issue, I think it's probably 85%, and you still have to have a good strategy."

Leverage note: futures are inherently levered; a micro-gold point move at 1 contract ≈ $10, and the prop-firm accounts add drawdown rules of their own (not covered in free content).

P8. Worked example: one trade plus the expectancy math

The recorded live demo 🟢 (Ih8PonrUZyo): "I'm looking for a divergence, blue line pointing up, orange line not as pointing upward. Divergence is pushing upward. Now I wait for this white line to be oversold… Order filled. I'm going to aim for about 100 bucks. Right now we're at about plus 25, I can protect my trade and lock in at least $25. Now I've locked in at least $45. We're at 85… Order filled. We just hit 110." Entry → protected → +$110, inside a couple of minutes.

The expectancy math the whole system stands on (mine, from his stated numbers): at 1:1 with $200 risked,

Win rateExpectancy per trade
50%$0 (minus fees)
60%+$40
70% (his gate)+$80
86% (claimed "lab" rate)+$144

Fees and slippage on 30–40-second holds eat from these directly, see Audit.

P9. Scenario quick-reference

If this happens……the system does this
Blue/orange diverge ~90 secNote direction; don't enter yet
RSI pops opposite your directionEnter within 1–2 seconds
Trade worksStop → breakeven ("risk-free"), ride to target
Trade failsStop fires; small fixed loss; move on ("par for the course")
Paper win rate < 70% over 50–100No real money. Full stop
QualifiedBuy prop-firm evaluations, trade their capital
Account reaches payoutPay back all fees first ("pay yourself back for everything, prop-firm fees, club fees"), then reinvest
Prop firm runs a saleBuy more accounts (5 for $95 example)
Feeling revenge-y after lossesStop for the day, mindset is the stated #1 killer

📖 DEEP DIVE

D1. The flagship pitch: free vs paid

The system is given away structurally for free 🟢: "If you watch this video all the way through, this alone can act as your manual… without ever needing to sign up for anything." It's framed as "the highest probability trading strategy that exists, probably the most tested and researched in any field of trading." The paid layers sell setup help, mentorship, "discovery labs, boot camps," proprietary trend widgets, and community, "we have ways to get you maximum savings on TradingView accounts… yes, we get a small commission." Live sessions double as proof-of-concept marketing: "we are actually doing live trading showing this exact pattern almost every single day… that's been a huge part of why this system has really taken off."

D2. The blueprint: Jeremy's own account of building it

🟢 (OZVlEziFqMA): He noticed students reporting 67–75% win rates on individual trades yet not making money, interviewed the unprofitable ones personally ("I hadn't been working as a mentor for years because I was building the mentorship program, I personally trained the mentors for about a year"), and concluded the failures were behavioral, not mechanical. The fix was a bootcamp with enforced rule-following: "~100 people. First week, all we did was paper trading, and they knew their trades would be checked against the criteria of the gold pattern by technical analysts. 97% of the people in that first week were green." Later: "The lab: 86%. That's with real, manual, actual trading verified by technical analysts." He includes himself in the discipline problem: "I occasionally fell prey to that despite all my experience and all my preachings, so I'm going to follow my own rules as well."

Then the money path: two funded accounts → first payout $3,600 → "first of all, pay yourself back for everything, the fees for the prop firms, fees for the 20-Minute Trader club. Done. Now you're in the green" → add accounts on sales → "if you have 20 accounts…" (the scaling dream sold to the room).

D3. The prop-firm economics nobody prices on stream

Named firms: Apex, Tradify, Take Profit Trader, Lucid, My Funded Futures. The model: pay an evaluation fee → hit profit targets under drawdown rules → trade the firm's capital for a payout split. What's never discussed in the material reviewed: most evaluations industry-wide fail, fees are lost each attempt, firms impose daily/trailing drawdown rules that interact badly with a 1:1 scalping system's losing streaks, and "5 accounts for $95" is a customer-acquisition sale by the firm, not free capital. One stream moment prices the tail honestly 🔴: "[$100 profit] could be 2,000 red if I lost, but there is potential for that" (running many synchronized accounts).

D5. The person

Jeremy Russell presents as founder-operator ("a like-minded, passionate team"), heavy on reach (633K Instagram) and light on biography, no trading background, employer history, or credentials located on the site, the channel, or the independent review. The humility notes that do appear: admitting he breaks his own rules sometimes (D2), and the family-content video titles ("When Dad Wants to Sell Everything and Become Amish…") that brand the channel as lifestyle-adjacent rather than institutional.

🔍 AUDIT: an independent read

Mine, not his.

What's genuinely good

StrengthWhy it holds up
Real per-trade risk discipline, shown liveHard stop on every trade, 1:1 bracket, stop-to-breakeven, demonstrated, not just described. The cleanest per-trade risk control of the three dossiers
A strict, objective gate before real money70% over 50–100 paper trades, explicitly rejecting hot streaks. Neither options trader in this project has anything like it
Losses normalized on camera"You're going to lose… it's how you handle the loss", plus actual stop-outs shown live

What concerns me

RiskThe problem
🚨 The business is prop-firm evaluation churnThe taught path funnels students into repeatedly buying third-party evaluations, whose failure rates, fee losses, and drawdown-rule interactions are never priced out on stream. Revenue flows to the program (courses, affiliate) and the firms (fees) regardless of whether any student profits
🚨 Every number is internal97% (self-graded paper), 86% ("lab," unnamed analysts), 68.2%/$188 (survey of self-selected paying customers). An independent reviewer looked and found no earnings proof. Nothing is audited
🚨 30–40-second holds are execution-fragileSlippage, latency, and fees are a large fraction of a $60–200 bracket on micros. A demo fill is not your fill; the 1:1 math degrades to negative expectancy fast if the effective ratio slips to 0.8:1
"Live trading" isn't always the founderStudents/mentors host sessions ("My name is Gino…"). The social proof stream conflates the program with the person
20-minutes-a-day undersells the skill1–2-second reaction windows on 1-second charts is a reflex sport; the marketing frames it as passive-adjacent
Survivorship in the communityDiscords/streams surface winners; the 31.8% of survey respondents not reporting positive earnings get no airtime
Aggressive funnel mechanicsOver-the-top claims and limited-time offers flagged by the independent review; pricing tiers have shifted ($497 "Elite" vs current $197 "Club", unresolved)

Before copying any of it

  1. Separate the trading method from the funding model. The 3-line scalp with a hard 1:1 bracket is testable on paper for free. The prop-firm pipeline is a separate, fee-bearing bet, model evaluation failure rates before buying any.
  2. Measure your own fills. Paper-trade fills lie at this timescale; test with 1 micro live only after paper profitability, and track realized slippage per trade against the bracket size.
  3. Hold the 70%/50-trade gate sacred, it's the best rule in the program. If you can't hit it on paper, the system (or your reflexes) doesn't work for you, and no funded account fixes that.
  4. Budget fees into expectancy. At $80/trade edge (70%, $200 bracket), $4–8 of round-trip cost per contract is a 5–10% edge tax before slippage.
  5. Ask for the survey methodology before believing $188/week. Sample, selection, account sizes, none disclosed.

Bottom line

The cleanest per-trade mechanics of the three, defined risk, symmetric brackets, an enforced paper-trading gate, and losses acknowledged as routine. Wrapped in the weakest evidence and the most aggressive monetization: internal numbers all the way down, student-hosted "live proof," and a scaling story built on buying prop-firm evaluations. Steal the bracket discipline and the graduation gate; treat every published percentage as marketing until independently shown otherwise.
